Legit HK-style noodles - I'm lovin' it! This is Cantonese fast food but 10000x better. Seemingly simple yet so good. They are the masters of the craft, indeed. The noodles were perfectly textured, crunchy, and bouncy. The soup was made according to HK standards - the proper way with dried shrimp flavor. It was rich and strongly flavored that way. According to the HK expert, mom, that is the proper and legit way. 100% approved. The price is right on point for a quick, simple meal. The waitress was straightforward, and the tea is not an extra charge. Just be careful as the tea is super, super hot. The noodle shop is my cup of tea as I'm familiar with places like this. I love it. It is the Chinatown feel. Lots of older folk eating there and not in a rush. They're reading the newspaper or chatting away. So don't be too worried if it's not the cleanest place as everything else more than makes up for it. The food is legit; the environment is legit. Check, and check.

I always go there for the most authentic Chinese food. It's not Chinese-American, but genuine cuisine. The bowl of chicken corn soup is a meal in itself. You also get a native experience when seated. If there are no free tables, you'll be seated anywhere they can find room, even with perfect strangers. And you won't find a fork anywhere. They don't cater to people who don't know how an actual Chinese restaurant functions.

Food was great and staff were nice. CASH ONLY! 1.1 Cad : 1 USD versus the actual conversion rate. At the time we just went "ok" and added a few extra dollars to make sure we included tip..but I wonder if they do this lower conversion to include tip? Shrugs but will come back next time we visit Toronto.
